Following are detailed instructions for items on the Information Submission Form. Most items are not “required” and if something doesn't apply to your information, simply leave it blank.
Name of Event (Required)
This is the name of your event. It will be listed on the search result pages of the website.
Region (Required)
Choose the Mendocino County region that includes your event location, etc.
Types 1, 2 & 3 (Type 1 Required)
Each category has a list of types, and you may choose up to three types from the drop-down menus to describe this information. The types determine how this information will be found by searches from within the website.
Short Description (Required)
Provide a short (250 characters maximum) but attention-grabbing description of your event. This is the text that will appear next to your Thumbnail photo on the search results page, and its job is to get the website visitor to click through to your full-page report. Be creative and compelling!
Long Description (Required)
Here is where you get to tell your story! Paste in the text from your website or brochure, or write entirely new copy about your event. There is a 1,000 character limit to the length of this information. Remember to describe your special amenities, guest services, schedule of activities and whatever else makes you special.
Travel Experiences
This is another way for visitors to find your listing, based on the qualities of your event location.
Contact Person
This field is for internal GoMendo use and will not appear on the website. List the name of the person to whom we should direct our communications.

If you want us to email you at a different address than is listed on the site, enter it here.
Message
This message will be seen only by GoMendo.com staff. Let us know if you have any special instructions or comments regarding your listing.

This field is for describing the special location of your event, etc. For example, “At the Mendocino County Fairgrounds,” “In the Airport,” or “In Old Town” would all be locations. If nothing applies, leave it blank.

Enter the physical location of your event. Check the "Link to Map" box to include a link to an interactive map of this address.

Photo 1, Photo 2
It is very important to provide at least one high-quality photo of your event. Please use the “Browse” button to locate and attach your primary images in a JPEG format, 72 dpi resolution or more. Images larger than 250 pixels wide will be resized automatically.
Caption 1, Caption 2
Include a succinct caption to accompany photos 1 and 2, respectively. Maximum of 250 characters.
Thumbnail
This is another photo file you may attach. This little photo appears next to the name/title of this information when it is found by a website search, and becomes one of the links to your full information record. Images larger than 120 pixels wide will be resized automatically. If you leave this blank, a thumbnail of Photo 1 will be automatically created. If Photo1 and thumbnail are left blank, a default thumbnail will be substituted.
Hours
The open hours for an event, show times, etc. If applicable, enter the range, ie, “9:00 am to 5:00 pm,” or seasonal hours, ie, “Open Sunrise to Sunset.”
Cost
Ticket price, entry fee, etc. may be entered in this field. You may set a range, ie, “Entrees from $8 to $48.” You may also include a description, such as “Guided Tour $5 per person,” or “$15 evening performances, $10 matinees.”
Accepted Cards
List any credit cards you accept.
Starting Date, Ending Date
For multiple-day events, sales and other special offers, theatrical run dates, or other limited date information, put in the first and last day here. For single-day events/information, use only the starting date.
Key Words
The GoMendo website has a site-wide search of the entire database, in addition to the category-specific searches. The site-wide search is based on the name field and the key words field, so enter all the key words you think visitors may use to search for your information.
Directions
How can people find you? Provide written directions and assume that the website visitor doesn't know his way around Mendocino County.
